"Now that is high praise indeed," Krennic said with a grin as he worked on leaving a good dark mark on the other man's neck. It was just enough to draw only a bit of blood which he licked away with a flick of his tongue.

"I suppose it would be a pity if I had to kill you." And that, for him, was high praise. He didn't get sentimental with anyone except for one other.

Harper shifted again, laughing at the sting of teeth. "How sweet of you. Now get on with it."

"I believe it was you who told me to be patient," he pointed out as he stroked Harper more firmly now, meeting his gaze. "We both know you can end this when you wish, however."

There was something in Krennic's voice then - or perhaps not even his voice, perhaps it was simply the words - that Harper distrusted then. He bared his teeth and grabbed Krennic by the shoulders, flipping them over and pinning the man down. It would have been a great opportunity to snap his neck.

Harper tipped his head to the side, watching him.

"I can. I considered making you beg."

He let out a short laugh when Harper pinned him down, not resisting. He knew he was vulnerable, that Harper could have killed him easily but there was no fear in his expression.

"And what are you considering now?"

"It would be dishonorable to kill you now," Harper informed him, which was possibly not what Krennic had intended to ask. "And I promised to leave you for last."

Occasionally he honored those promises. They weren't the same as oaths.

Harper put his hand on Krennic's throat, squeezing.

"Now? Now I'll give you another choice."

Harper bared his teeth.

"Right now - like this - or on your back."

His breath caught as Harper squeezed his throat but he made no move to get away.

There was only a moment of consideration before he made his decision. Both were appealing but he knew what he wanted. "Right now, like this."

No fear at all. Krennic was a bold man, that was certain. And a clever one to boot. It was a dangerous combination to have in an enemy, something Harper's niece had discovered just fine on her own. And then she'd seen fit to involve her family.

Perhaps it was for the best. It had led to this.

No more talking, Harper decided. He had patience, but only to a point.

He shifted, slotting their bodies together, and pushed into Krennic with a hiss.

"Fuck-" He had gotten what he wanted, grinning as Harper suddenly pushed into him. It hurt but he welcomed the pain, groaning.

"Don't go easy on me now," he challenged once he caught his breath. He would have to thank Maketh later, though he had no doubt she wouldn't appreciate it.

"That's quite the face," Harper murmured, squeezing Krennic's throat briefly. Despite his tone and whatever else he was getting from the moment, Krennic had left himself vulnerable. He was confident Harper wouldn't take advantage.

For the moment, he was safe in that assumption.

Harper rocked his hips up once, twice, checking for the reaction. He'd know when he found the mark.

In the meantime, he could fully enjoy how good it felt to have someone under him again.

It would be all too easy for Harper to squeeze just a little bit of pressure, Krennic grabbed the edges of Tarkin's pillow tightly as he raised his chin. There was a thrill being so close to death like this. He thrived on it.

"Just- there!" His eyes widened when Harper found just the right spot, shuddering underneath him. He reached out to grab the other man's side, nails digging in tightly. "Don't hold back." He didn't care if he couldn't sit down or walk the next day.

Impatient just like before. Harper leaned forward and complied, sinking his teeth into the meet of Krennic's shoulder. He hadn't intended to do it like this, rough and fast with blood on both their mouths. But it had turned and he couldn't complain. Not with how Krennic shuddered under him, gripping so sweetly.

It would hurt come morning. It probably hurt now. Krennic wanted it that way. Harper growled out a curse and complied. He was close, impatient to finish what he'd started. It wouldn't take long.

He dragged his nails down Harper's side as the other man obeyed. It did hurt, but it was exactly what he had been craving. The bite to his shoulder made him let out a growl of pleasure, feeling the blood well up.

He knew he was close, reaching down between his legs to stroke himself. "Fuck-!" He wasn't going be able to hold out much longer and he was sure Harper knew that.

Harper laughed again, tasting blood in his mouth. Both of them would be marked from this. Perhaps it would even scar. And wouldn't that be a story? One worth keeping and telling a few years down the road when the situation had been made clearer. Either this was an awful mistake or a interesting tryst.

Time would tell.

He kept his hand on Krennic's throat, not choking but just holding it there, and bore down hard. Not much longer and---ah.

Harper shivered all over, content as a loth cat, and then, cheerfully, bopped Krennic on the nose.

He could feel the blood running down his shoulder, it would certainly stain the sheets. He wasn't thinking about Tarkin, though, not when Harper held his throat firmly.

He wasn't that far behind the other man, shuddering as he found his own release in his hand.

Of all things he might have expected, Harper reaching down to bop him on the nose wasn't one of them. He couldn't help but laugh with how ridiculous it was as he laid back on the bed. He was going to sleep well later tonight.

The bed clearly wasn't meant for two, but Harper was good at folding himself into uncomfortable shapes when needed. And this was far from uncomfortable, even with blood running down his chest and several bite marks smarting. He rolled over with a sigh, content as could be, and didn't bother with the mess. It would be someone else's problem.

"Sorry about your trooper," Harper said after a moment, though he was not sorry at all. "I'll kill you something to make up for it."

"Apology accepted. And I'll hold you to that." He honestly wasn't worried about it, death troopers were the elite but they were still replaceable.

Krennic wasn't in a rush to get up and move just yet. He definitely wasn't worried about the mess, it would be something for Tarkin to deal with when he returned to Lothal.

Harper snorted. "Of course you will."

The dead man was probably still on the floor.

Oh well. Someone would clean it up eventually. Much like Tarkin's office.

Harper didn't envy them the task. Though he supposed he'd have to find something appropriate to kill and leave on Krennic's doorstep. Something that would make a point and possibly stain the floor. It would be an amusing distraction on what was proving to be an annoyingly quiet mission.

Krennic wasn't going to bother sending a cleaning droid in. If the governor wanted his office cleaned then he would have to arrange it himself.

"Well, this evening has certainly proven to be interesting, to say the least." He hadn't expected any of this when he had walked into his office to find the Mandalorian there but he would have to thank Maketh for her little plot.

Interesting was one word for it. Harper ran a hand through his hair with a sigh. "Remember our agreement, Imperial. As enjoyable as I find you, your kind has no honor and must be reminded of your promises."

He turned his head slightly, smiling.

"If you must betray me, then you'd best do it well."

"Our goals are the same on this matter," Krennic pointed out as he sat up. He could disgrace Maketh and make Tarkin's life worse at the same time. It worked for him.

But that didn't mean that he wouldn't betray him in the future. He had his own goals to accomplish and Galen and the Death Star were the most important.

"Duly noted," he smirked with amusement. He always made sure to plan his revenge well.

Harper bared his teeth in silent laughter. Their goals might align temporarily, but that was hardly the same thing. Not that it really mattered. They understood each other. That was a rare thing in their line of work. "I must return to my men. They grow bored without supervision."

And bored Mandalorians tended to cause a great deal of property damage.

"Of course." Bored Mandalorians rarely turned out well. He got out of bed to look for his pants and shirt, the rest of his clothes were in Tarkin's office. He would stop by to grab them before heading to his room.

He glanced at the mess they had made on Tarkin's bed, pleased with himself. The grand moff would have a lovely surprise to come back to.

In retrospect, there had been warnings that the plan hadn't been going quite as smoothly as expected. The fact that her mother had only mentioned Harper during her rare, drunken spats. The sheer amount of credits included in his bounty. The fact that he'd allegedly stolen an Imperial TIE fighter and left the pilot stripped naked in the nearest cantina--- and on Coruscant, of all damn places.

Oh, and that his soldiers had mangled a grand total of nine of storm troopers in the name of combat readiness. Five were dead. The others might survive by the grace of bacta gel and sheer dumb luck. And now there was a commotion down in the training grounds that she'd only just resolved - temporarily - without anyone dropping more bodies.

Damn it all.

Harper - the smiling bastard - hardly seemed concerned. The rebels had gone to ground. And Krennic's ambitions were running unchecked.

Something had changed. Harper's allegiances, mainly.

Worryingly, it occurred to Maketh that she didn't know her uncle that well. Her mother had yelled about him on occasion.

That should have been a warning.

She marched over to his quarters with a fury on her mind, enough that even the Death Troopers seemed surprised by it, and a bloody Mandalorian helmet in her hand.

Her uniform was scorched and smelled of whiskey where someone had upended a glass on her.

"Krennic! Do you know what you've done!?"

Lothal was chaos. While the rebels, Mandalorians, and stormtroopers clashed on the streets, Krennic was free to take the day to see another shipment of kyber crystals off the planet.

He wasn't concerned by the fighting, he had encouraged some of his connections outside of Imperial circles to assist the rebels. Harper proved helpful which Krennic appreciated. This would take out both Maketh and Tarkin down neatly.

He wasn't using Tarkin's office anymore, the cleaning droids were still in there so he had set up in his own quarters, sitting at the desk when she stormed in.

"Apparently not enough from the sound of things. I clearly have been remiss about trusting you to oversee things and make arrangements on your own. And Coruscant isn't pleased with Governor Tarkin's judgment with leaving affairs to you. There will be some drastic changes that will be made."
