Hmm. That was an interesting choice of words.

Harper raised an eyebrow, shivering against the bite-marks. If needed, he could have held completely still against it, but had decided not to. Mandalorian warriors were trained to endure great stress in silence and complete stillness if needed. And while this was no great trial to endure - Harper was rather enjoying it thus far - it was indeed becoming distracting.

"I hear all sorts of rumors about the Officer Corps," Harper murmured, flexing his arms against Krennic's hold. Just a little. To show that he could, that he was allowing this. Why not? "Dear me. Could some of them be true?"

"Oh? And what have you heard?" he chuckled. He knew of his own reputation in the Imperial ranks. He had been a legend in school for his nightly carousing and he had changed little during his service to the Republic.

Tt was likely one of the reasons officers like Tarkin looked down on him but he wasn't ashamed. He had managed to accomplish a great deal despite his personal life. "I can confirm if they are or not," he murmured as his lips trailed down as his grip tightened on Harper's wrists, glancing up at him.

"I bet you can," Harper murmured, shifting a little for a better position. There was a scar on his hip where he'd been stabbed some years ago and it smarted from time to time if the muscles tensed the wrong way. He had many such scars and it was a dangerous thing to let someone like Krennic see them up close. A man like him was certain to get ideas.

But that, of course, was part of the thrill. Seeing how far it could go.

Harper tipped his head back, grinning up at the ceiling, and let Krennic pin his wrists without a fight. "I'm told it's customary for cadets to fuck their superiors for better assignments. Friends in high places. Such as they are."

"It's true." Krennic saw no reason to deny it. It had been something he had learned early. "If you want to advance in the Imperial military, it's best you have a few special talents," he said as he looked at the scars. "And it's the best way to make friends and form alliances."

He looked up at Harper as his lips lingered on the scar on his hip before moving down one thigh, shifting Harper's legs apart.

Interesting. Unbidden, Harper wondered what sort of friends his niece made in the Academy. It wasn't something they'd spoken of. He'd heard rumors it wasn't an especially pleasant time for her and decided it wasn't a road worth following. Not in this moment, at least.

Harper bared his teeth in a silent grin, letting his eyes close. He'd never liked this sort of thing, letting someone put their mouth on him. It always felt like losing control in more ways than the obvious, like falling out of his body. But if it was part of a game, then he could see it through.

And this was clearly a game.

"I see," Harper murmured. "You must have many friends."

"Mhmm. I was very popular." He was sure Harper could tell that already as he suddenly bit down on the inside of Harper's thigh, aiming to leave a mark that would last for some time.

He knew what he was doing, and just how to use his teeth.

"I believe you can tell why that was."

The shock of it made Harper tense and hiss, flexing his hands against Krennic's hold. But the game was to hold still, so he did.

"You know how to read a room," Harper said, a little breathless. It was true but perhaps not the answer Krennic was looking for. "I imagine people like putting you in your place. Or thinking they have."

Krennic smirked, teasing the mark he had left with his lips. Tarkin thought he had Krennic where he wanted and that he would be able to crush him. Yet, at this very moment, Tarkin was distracted with a conflict in a star system in the Outer Rim which Krennic had orchestrated to keep the governor from interfering.

"I wouldn't deny that," he said after a moment, leaning back to peer at his work. Satisfied, he moved back up, leaving a few more bite marks and bruises. "It's much more satisfying to let them believe they won until the last minute."

Tarkin would learn that lesson very well, if he had anything to say about it.

Much like this moment right now, Harper assumed. This whole thing was a game with long reaching goals. A large part of it was about a man not even in the system, the man whose bed they were currently defiling.

"You take the long view," Harper murmured, arching slightly. "I can appreciate that."

Just as he could appreciate the skill it took to leave a mark without drawing blood. Wearing his armor would be a challenge come morning. There were enough bruises that just moving through his daily routine would be an experience in reliving each mark. No doubt as Krennic intended.

Well. They were both of them playing at a dangerous game here. Harper didn't intend to lose. He rarely played politics and sex at the same time - such things were distasteful and fools often mistook them for women's work - but occasionally a situation went lopsided and the only worthy outcome was the interesting one. Harper had never slept with anyone solely to kill them, though he knew how - had indeed paid a narrow-faced prostitute a handsome fee to learn how to do just that - but the option remained. If needed.

If Krennic didn't pay his half of the bargain.

Harper freed his one of his hands with a practiced twist and caught Krennic's chin, digging in his nail. "Do you think you're winning now, Imperial?"

He tilted his head up, defiant.

"I haven't lost." He wouldn't claim victory, he had already won in a way. Tarkin would be returning to find not only the mess from this night but a planet in chaos. The pleasure from tonight was just an additional bonus.

"Are you going to put me in my place then?" His tone was strained as he shifted against the other man, challenging him.

Harper just smiled, pressing his thumb against Krennic's lip. "I think you're rather pleased with where you are."

Regardless of whatever Harper might do about it. A clever game, and one that Krennic knew how to play. There weren't many ways for him to lose.

Harper leaned back, resting his head on his hands. Enjoying the view.

"Well? Go on then."

"Indeed I am." Not that he could deny it given he was pressed flush against Harper. He reached down to palm the other man's cock slowly, it was only fair after being teased for so long.

"How gracious of you despite the fact we both know that you can turn the tables any time you wish," Krennic pointed out with amusement. But he would take advantage of his position while he could, leaning down to trail his teeth down Harper's neck.

Mhmm, that was nice. There was no hesitation at all. Harper grinned, tipping his head back with a sigh. He was curious to see what Krennic would do. "I could."

Indeed, it was a challenge not to at least grab the man and dig his nails in. Make him shiver.

Patience, Harper thought, and laughed. He knew Krennic would feel it against his teeth.

"I like you, Imperial. I'll kill you last."

"Now that is high praise indeed," Krennic said with a grin as he worked on leaving a good dark mark on the other man's neck. It was just enough to draw only a bit of blood which he licked away with a flick of his tongue.

"I suppose it would be a pity if I had to kill you." And that, for him, was high praise. He didn't get sentimental with anyone except for one other.

Harper shifted again, laughing at the sting of teeth. "How sweet of you. Now get on with it."

"I believe it was you who told me to be patient," he pointed out as he stroked Harper more firmly now, meeting his gaze. "We both know you can end this when you wish, however."

There was something in Krennic's voice then - or perhaps not even his voice, perhaps it was simply the words - that Harper distrusted then. He bared his teeth and grabbed Krennic by the shoulders, flipping them over and pinning the man down. It would have been a great opportunity to snap his neck.

Harper tipped his head to the side, watching him.

"I can. I considered making you beg."

He let out a short laugh when Harper pinned him down, not resisting. He knew he was vulnerable, that Harper could have killed him easily but there was no fear in his expression.

"And what are you considering now?"

"It would be dishonorable to kill you now," Harper informed him, which was possibly not what Krennic had intended to ask. "And I promised to leave you for last."

Occasionally he honored those promises. They weren't the same as oaths.

Harper put his hand on Krennic's throat, squeezing.

"Now? Now I'll give you another choice."

Harper bared his teeth.

"Right now - like this - or on your back."

His breath caught as Harper squeezed his throat but he made no move to get away.

There was only a moment of consideration before he made his decision. Both were appealing but he knew what he wanted. "Right now, like this."

No fear at all. Krennic was a bold man, that was certain. And a clever one to boot. It was a dangerous combination to have in an enemy, something Harper's niece had discovered just fine on her own. And then she'd seen fit to involve her family.

Perhaps it was for the best. It had led to this.

No more talking, Harper decided. He had patience, but only to a point.

He shifted, slotting their bodies together, and pushed into Krennic with a hiss.

"Fuck-" He had gotten what he wanted, grinning as Harper suddenly pushed into him. It hurt but he welcomed the pain, groaning.

"Don't go easy on me now," he challenged once he caught his breath. He would have to thank Maketh later, though he had no doubt she wouldn't appreciate it.

"That's quite the face," Harper murmured, squeezing Krennic's throat briefly. Despite his tone and whatever else he was getting from the moment, Krennic had left himself vulnerable. He was confident Harper wouldn't take advantage.

For the moment, he was safe in that assumption.

Harper rocked his hips up once, twice, checking for the reaction. He'd know when he found the mark.

In the meantime, he could fully enjoy how good it felt to have someone under him again.

It would be all too easy for Harper to squeeze just a little bit of pressure, Krennic grabbed the edges of Tarkin's pillow tightly as he raised his chin. There was a thrill being so close to death like this. He thrived on it.

"Just- there!" His eyes widened when Harper found just the right spot, shuddering underneath him. He reached out to grab the other man's side, nails digging in tightly. "Don't hold back." He didn't care if he couldn't sit down or walk the next day.

Impatient just like before. Harper leaned forward and complied, sinking his teeth into the meet of Krennic's shoulder. He hadn't intended to do it like this, rough and fast with blood on both their mouths. But it had turned and he couldn't complain. Not with how Krennic shuddered under him, gripping so sweetly.

It would hurt come morning. It probably hurt now. Krennic wanted it that way. Harper growled out a curse and complied. He was close, impatient to finish what he'd started. It wouldn't take long.
