You don't need to be sorry; an only slightly more busted than usual knee is a lot better than you know. The alternative.

[He doesn't know if he might've gotten the shot off before Nick attacked if Maketh hadn't intervened; maybe, or maybe they would've just both been hit directly. He doesn't really want to think about that possibility.]

I was waiting for the event to be over before I really talked to anyone I didn't know about meeting up or something.

[The last thing anyone needs would be if someone came to the house--since he can't really walk--and ends up being either the target of someone already there, or even worse someone at the house being their target.]
