My tale is one shared by many here. Half of us, at the time. One morrow I awoke in a coffin. I had been buried alive six foot beneath the earth, courtesy of Fear. Fear gave us three days' worth of air.
It was Dorian who dug me free. Without gloves, I should mention. The miserable state of his hands made for a stark contrast to the finery of his attire. It spoke eloquently of his great integrity. So did his sincere joy at saving my life, though I was not one of his two comrades whom he had sought to rescue.
I swore on my honour that I would see my debt to him repaid. That has yet to happen. However it did afford me reason to seek him out.
I had heard of that. It seems this place is determined to make introductions under dire circumstance. The opportunity to repay your debt may yet appear.
Do you think Dorian has recovered from our festivities?
[text] brb laughing forever
Alas, I am out of practice on that count.
How is your hangover, by the way?
text; whoops I forgot to specify there! NO LAUGHING
Still, it is useful to train at one's worst as well as one's best.
[text] :D:D:D:D
Wait, are you training????? Right now?
Please don't throw up on anything.

[Well, probably not.]
How fares thee this morn?
[Because life is unfair if she is not also terribly hungover.]
no subject
[Seriously.]
I'm alive. And upright. You?
[Ahahahaha yeah. She is. But Maketh is one of those strange, lucky people who can shake off a hangover and go straight back to work.]

Recall you much of last night?

I remember meeting Dorian. Apparently I sang.

Know that Dorian is an accomplished magician and scholar. I believe the pair of you will get on well.
[Or rather, it will please him greatly if they do.]
no subject
[Maybe. She's never actually done that sober.]
I should think so, if he's earned your respect.

I agree, from what I can remember of last night. You choose your company well, Sir Henry.
no subject
Verily, I cannot say that I necessarily deserve the company I am blessed with. Yet I will relinquish it not.
no subject
[She's teasing, a little.]
So modest.
I am glad that we met. In case that was ever in doubt.

But nay. It is good to hear, regardless.
